Meet Our Cows

A2A2 Guernsey Cows

Golden Guernsey Logo Full Color 2024 v2 blue.avif

Welcome to our farm. Our registered A2A2 Guernsey cows are renowned for producing golden milk naturally rich in flavor and color, thanks to elevated levels of beta carotene. Guernsey milk also provides up to three times more omega-3s than milk from other breeds, and because it’s A2A2 certified, it can be easier to digest. We take pride in working with these large, gentle cows; their calm nature and impressive stature make them a pleasure to work with in the milking parlor.

MARS
Campbell's Troublemaker Torrence

Mars is easily the standout in our milking herd—a striking, deep-bodied cow with strong, correct legs and a gracefully feminine head. She sets the bar for udder quality, with flawless attachments and short, even teats, contributing to impressive production levels. At her peak, Mars gives us up to 9 gallons a day (77.4 lbs), producing rich milk with 4.63% butterfat and 2.88% protein. We're looking forward to welcoming her 2025 heifer calf, Prim, who will be a valuable addition to our milking line. Mars is currently bred to the Registered Guernsey "Loverboy" and is due again in June 2026.

STAR
Worthington's Shining Star

Star is a lovely A2A2 Guernsey cow known for her deep body, balanced structure, and correct conformation. She’s one of our larger girls and consistently impresses us with her outstanding production, peaking at 8 gallons (68.8 lbs) of milk a day with 4.2% butterfat and 2.78% protein. Star is truly unfazed by the usual barn chaos—she’s calm, steady, and just as content to share her calf as she is to be milked. Star is scheduled for an embryo transplant in December 2025, and we’re eager to see if it will bring us a 2026 heifer calf.

PRIM
Valley Gem Prairie Primrose

Prim is our spirited 2025 heifer calf out of Mars. Her sire is “Wipeout.” We’re excited to see her join the milking herd in 2027. She’ll reach breeding age this spring, and we’re planning to breed her to a top-notch Guernsey bull through AI. As a calf, Prim developed a bit of a reputation for finding her way into places she didn’t belong, but she’s grown into a calm, even-tempered young cow. We can’t wait to watch her continue to mature and eventually become part of our milking lineup.
